At MidCoast Shakes, we believe that the arts and community thrive on diversity.
We are dedicated to non-traditional casting, fully accessible productions, and creating a brave space for everyone to come together. We hope you’ll join us!
(Lady)Macbeth
We have cast all the adult roles for our production this summer, but we are still looking for 2 youth actors (age 10 - 17) to join our cast.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will run remotely beginning April 15, 2026. In-person rehearsals will begin in May 2026 at our studio in Belfast, ME. Our performances will run June 24-28, 2026 outdoors in City Park (with an indoor venue for inclement weather).
Exact rehearsal dates will be decided based on actor availability. Youth actors should expect to rehearse 1-2 times/week until the week prior to performance. Weeknight rehearsals will occur in the evening (6:30-8 PM) and weekend rehearsals will occur during the day.
No Shakespeare experience is needed - we have professional theater experts who will teach all aspects of performing including text analysis, stage combat, and performance techniques.

Registering for your Audition:
Parents can schedule either an in-person audition for their child at our Studio in Belfast, ME or a virtual audition by registering through the online form below. Please note on the audition form that you are registering your child for auditions. We will send you additional information once you have registered with us.
For live auditions, youth actors should prepare a short piece, highlighting their ability to perform something from memory. We are happy to provide age appropriate monologues for your child to memorize.
For virtual auditions, email us (link provided below) with a YouTube link of your child performing a short piece, highlighting their ability to perform something from memory.
